Twenty years ago, a miracle happened when the Cold War ended peacefully. We were handed the chance to walk away from the nuclear nightmare and redirect billions of Cold War dollars to neglected needs at home.
Now we are spending more money on the military than we ever did during that War. But we also have the best chance in twenty years to change that, and to reclaim the post-Cold War promise of a demilitarized economy.
Join two long-distance runners in this struggle to talk about how. We’ll look at the prospects of the current political moment, the dimensions of the war economy we’re up against, and the tools and strategies at our disposal to change it.
